A New Year; A New You
As I start the New Year, the quote by Wayne Dyer comes to mind “You don’t attract what you want, you attract what you are.”
To start this discussion on “attracting” I will go back to the basics of Universal Laws that state that we are governed by many laws, but the one that we have been hearing a lot about over the last several years is the Law of Attraction – “I attract to my life whatever I give my attention, energy and focus to, whether positive or negative.”
This law is a fact. It’s been based in spiritual practices for centuries, and is now scientifically proven. If you aren’t already consciously aware of this law…well, that means you’ve been living it by default.
…So, the Good News? You create your life. …And, the Bad News? You create your life.
Yep, after reading this you can no longer place blame anywhere else for what is going on in your life, because the fact is…you created it. Consciously or not. The good news is that it can be very exciting to realize just how much control you have over your own life. The bad news (although I really don’t see it as bad) is that you now have to take responsibility for everything that is happening in your life.
How? By your thoughts.
The thing about that is that over time we have been conditioned to believe and think in certain ways. This well-intentioned conditioning has come from our parents, teachers, peers, and society. Typically we don’t even question the way we think…it just is the way it is.
HOWEVER, it has become glaringly obvious that the way we live is not making us happy…soooo the way we’ve been doin’ things is just not workin’. We have what appears to be everything we could possibly want, YET a lot of us still struggle with a feeling that there’s gotta be more to life.
Here is where Wayne Dyers quote comes in. We do attract to our life based on what we think about, however, what we think about ultimately creates who we are. So, the fact is we are always attracting at the level of who we are at our core versus attracting only on the material level. Yep, attraction and creation is an inside job!
So, how do you attract what you want? Figure out who you need to be in order to attract it!
If you weren’t already aware that you are the creator of your life…you are now! So, that means you can now start taking conscious steps towards getting more outta of your life – more meaning, more balance, more relaxation, more fun, more self-esteem, more time to self, more quality relationships…..and on and on we go.
So, here’s the Question – Is this the year that you stop living your life by default?!
